Elvira coming again on home video

Last fall Elvira’s Movie Macabre returned to the airwaves on 120 stations in syndication, presenting a fine package of psychotronic clasicks. June will see the release of the first in a series of double feature discs preserving the show on DVD.

Each show features a presentation of a well-worn p-flick broken up with skits and occasional commentary from Elvira, all in excellent horror host fashion.

The first releases from Entertainment One will be the zombie-themed Night of the Living Dead paired with I Eat Your Skin, while The Satanic Rites of Dracula will partner with The Werewolf of Washington.

Future DVDs will pair such camp classics as The Terror (starring Boris Karloff and Jack Nicholson) with Eegah! and Scared to Death (starring Bela Lugosi) with The Manster.

Any chance they might screen recent shows hosted by Elvira? We’ve seen most of these already and she must have new shows to present.

We haven’t received a screener yet, but I believe these DVDs are from the new season that started last fall, not old shows.
